Introduction:

At WEHAT Foundation Uganda, we believe every girl deserves the tools to thrive. Our Urban Farming Training for Girls in Uganda equips young women from underserved communities with practical agricultural skills, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable livelihoods.

Project Overview:

Launched in partnership with Afri‑Fruits, the Girls in Action initiative trains participants to:

  • Grow their own food through modern urban farming techniques in Uganda
  • Breed domestic animals for nutrition and income
  • Sell surplus produce to generate sustainable revenue
  • Become certified trainers, spreading knowledge across their communities

Impact:

  • Participants receive Directorate Industrial Training (DIT) certification in Uganda
  • Graduates apply skills at home, feeding families and earning income
